The members of Garden City Moose Lodge #538 have continued their generous tradition of supporting the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute with the Ninth Annual Cancer Auction, held in late April.

 

The event raised $13,300 this year in unrestricted funds. This year’s proceeds bring the Garden City Moose Lodge fundraising total to $68,677.

 

Almost 250 people attended the event, which featured a live and silent auction, along with pizzas donated by Hungry Howies and cookies provided by Otis Spunkmeyer.

 

“We are extremely pleased to receive this very generous donation from the Garden City Moose Lodge,” said Nick Karmanos, senior vice president of Institutional Relations. “Each day, Karmanos’ basic scientific and clinical researchers make breakthrough discoveries that promise a future free of cancer. Events like the Moose Lodge’s Annual Cancer Auction play a critical role in continuing that vital work.”
