Looking good and fighting cancer came together in Get Chic for a Cause, a fundraiser held last week to benefit the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.


The recent event was a ladies night out at Marlee's by Tapper's inside Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi. Marla and Leora Tapper hosted the event along with Julie Karmanos and Michelle Mio, who served as event chairs on behalf The Partners Committee. 


Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres while being fitted for jewelry, scarves and handbags by Marlee's stylists, all in support of raising funds for breast cancer research and treatment.


Marlee’s by Tapper’s also offered a 10 percent discount to shoppers and contributed 10 percent of all purchases made during the get-together to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.


Mio and Karmanos are committee members of The Partners. The Partners is a group of young, hands-on volunteers between the ages of 25 and 50, united in the fight against cancer.
