Dr. Elisabeth Heath elected to Michigan Cancer Consortium Board of Directors

Elisabeth Heath, M.D., associate professor in the Department of Oncology, director of prostate cancer research, and member of the Genitourinary Oncology Multidisciplinary Team at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Center and Wayne State University School of Medicine, has been elected to serve on the Michigan Cancer Consortium Board of Directors. Her term is for three years, beginning Jan. 1, 2012.
In her role as board member, Dr. Heath is tasked with ensuring that decisions, actions and policies are made and created based on the consortium’s guiding principles; promoting the consortium’s priorities, programs and services; and individually and collectively engaging in advocacy efforts to promote, maintain and sustain the consortium and its comprehensive cancer control efforts, among other responsibilities. Dr. Heath will also be a member of and lend her expertise to the Michigan Cancer Consortium’s Prostate Cancer Action Committee.
The Michigan Cancer Consortium is a statewide, broad-based partnership that strives to include all interested public and private organizations and provides a forum for collaboration (communication, coordination and the sharing of resources) to reduce the burden of cancer among the citizens of Michigan by achieving the consortium's research-based and results-oriented cancer prevention and control priorities.
