Movember, which occurs in November, aims to increase awareness of prostate cancer and men’s health. Compuware held a variety of fun events, including a moustache-related cookie bake sale, the sale of moustache cards, a photo booth where folks could don their moustaches and have their photos taken, and a men’s health lecture by Elisabeth Health, M.D., member of Karmanos’ Genitourinary Oncology Multidisciplinary Team, director of prostate cancer research at the Institute, and associate professor of Oncology at Wayne State University School of Medicine, and Denise Henderson, M.Ed., RN-BC, an educator in Karmanos’ Patient and Community Education Department.

“It’s terrific that Compuware took such a proactive and engaging approach to get the message out to men that prostate cancer is a highly-treatable disease if caught early,” Dr. Heath said. “Educating the public is critical to increasing cancer awareness, disease prevention and early diagnosis.”
