Karmanos’ breast cancer research program receives support from Groves High School Volleyball team
Friday, May 24, 2013
The Groves High School Volleyball team recently hosted their first Annual Pink-Out Volleyball match against West Bloomfield to support breast cancer research at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. The team hosted this event to show their support for the cause, to give back to their community and to let others know how close to home breast cancer has hit the members of the volleyball team and their families.
Proceeds from T-shirt, baked goods and raffle ticket sales, along with all volleyball match ticket sale revenue from the night, were donated to Karmanos. A check for an impressive $3,106.77 was presented to Karry Samulski, manager of Events at Karmanos, by the team and their coaches.
We are extremely grateful to the Groves High School Volleyball team and their supporters for raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research at Karmanos!
