Breast cancer experts at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute have published an article on the Advance Healthcare Network for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants Web site.
The article is titled, “Common Breast Symptoms: When to refer to a breast surgeon.” Authors include Mary Ann Kosir, M.D., associate professor of Surgery and Oncology at Karmanos and Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSU SOM); Lisa Chism, DNP, NP, APRN, BC, NCMP, FAANP, nurse practitioner with the Women’s Wellness Clinic at Karmanos; Keiva Bland, M.D., FACS, assistant professor of Surgery in Surgical Oncology at Karmanos and WSU SOM; Lydia Choi, M.D., assistant professor of Surgical Oncology at Karmanos and WSU SOM; David Gorski, M.D., Ph.D., co-medical director of the Walt Breast Center at Karmanos and associate professor of Surgery at WSU SOM; and Michael Simon, M.D., leader of the Breast Oncology Multidisciplinary Team at Karmanos and WSU SOM.
