With thanks to all who supported our work to end breast cancer forever, the 18th
annual Komen Detroit Race for the CureŽ, locally presented by Karmanos Cancer Institute,
was a great success!
Approximately 30,000 participants took part in the 18th annual Susan G. Komen Detroit
Race for the CureŽ on May 30, at Comerica Park, making this a top-tier event in
the Komen Race for the Cure Series of 125 Races. Since its inception in 1992, Detroit's
Race has raised more than $17.5 million to support breast cancer screening and treatment
programs in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties, in addition to supporting the Susan
G. Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grant Program for breast cancer research.

Proceeds: With the help of our generous community,
despite tough times, we raised over $2 million! Watch how we put it to work with
the local grants we funded. We also donated $320,600
