Children/Youth Connection
Children are an important part of our Race and there is lots of fun to be had in the Children's Area.
The Children's Area
provides an opportunity to educate families about breast cancer in a non-threatening, positive environment. Often, when someone is diagnosed with cancer,
the whole family may be experiencing fear, anger and other strong emotions. This may be the first time a child
has seen the family in a sad and stressful situation. Children often feel they have to "fix it" or "help," and may internalize their own fears and
confusion. The Children's Area has been developed to promote positive education about breast cancer, fitness and fun.
Families enjoy activities and pick
up goodies for the little ones, all while visiting with some surprise guests.
