If you are a woman between 40-64 years of age without health insurance you may qualify for free breast and cervical screening through the Michigan Breast & Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP). Each year you may receive the following services for breast and cervical care.
Breast Care
- Clinical breast exam
- Mammogram
- Follow up tests
- If needed, cancer-related treatment
Cervical Care (PAP)
- Pap smear
- Pelvic exam
- Follow up tests
- If needed, cancer-related treatment
To be enrolled in the BCCCP, you must meet the following criteria
- Have an income below 250% of federal poverty level
- Be uninsured or under-insured
- Be age 40 - 64 for breast/cervical cancer screening and for diagnostic follow-up of breast/cervical abnormalities
- Be age 18 – 39, have been identified with a cervical abnormality through the Title X Program, and referred to the BCCCP for cervical cancer diagnostic follow-up
