Karmanos’ Supportive Oncology Specialists
Our Supportive Oncology Multidisciplinary Team works with each of our multidisciplinary teams to provide patients expert support for:
- Symptom control
- Pain management
- Psychological and spiritual needs
- Rehabilitation medicine
- Caregivers
- Advanced care planning
- Coordination of care
The goal of the team is to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families. These services are available from the time of initial diagnosis throughout all phases of treatment and care. The team also provides support for family members, recognizing they often experience emotional distress when a loved one is diagnosed with cancer.
