    Education is provided to all patients and their family members through the New Patient Portfolio distributed to each new patient at Karmanos.

    We offer classes on specific treatments and procedures, on-demand videos, special programs and additional literature.

    Because cancer is a growing community health concern, Karmanos Cancer Institute provides valuable information regarding prevention and early detection of cancer.

    Our experts present information on cancer prevention, risk and its reduction, and testing guidelines. Programs are available to businesses, religious congregations and social/community groups in southeastern Michigan.

    Karmanos Education and Resource Center

    The Education and Resource Center (ERC) is a patient and family-focused health library with the latest information on cancer care, including disease and treatment information, coping and support, integrative medicine and prevention. Resources found in the ERC include:

    The Education and Resource Center (ERC) is located on the first floor of the Wertz Clinic at Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit. The ERC is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
