Why a Team?
The Team Program offers groups of 10 or more people from all walks of life the opportunity to
make a difference in our community. Corporations, community organizations, schools, families
and friends - all can take part in the largest grassroots effort in the country in the
fight breast cancer.
- Together as a team you can speak with one voice in support of a coworker, mother, friend, sister,
whose life has been changed by the words, "You have breast cancer." Worldwide, that happens every 29 seconds!
- Together as a team you can spread the word about early detection as the key to survival.
Detected early, breast cancer is over 95% survivable.
- Together as a team you can raise money to support life saving education, outreach, treatment and research.
Since Komen Detroit's first Race in 1992, we have invested more than $13 million in breast cancer screening,
treatment, education and research.
- And together, you'll have a great time! Wonderful sponsors make our Team Awards Program terrific!
See details in the Team Captain Kit and below.
We've got some great tools for you and we're here to help. Your responsibilities as a Team Captain,
along with everything you need for a successful team, are in the Team Captain Kit.
So join us, register your team and spread the word that the place to be on Saturday,
May 30, 2009 is at Comerica Park for the:
18th Annual Komen Detroit Race for the CureŽ!
See you there!
