Children/Youth Connection
Children's Activities Area
Families are an important part of our Race and there's lots of fun to be had in the Children's Area.
The Children's Area
provides an opportunity to educate families about breast cancer in a non-threatening, positive environment. Often, when someone is diagnosed with cancer,
the whole family may be experiencing strong emotions. This may be the first time a child
has seen the family in such a stressful situation. Children often internalize their fears and
confusion. The Children's Area was developed to promote positive education about breast cancer, fitness and fun
and to recognize that Children are Co-Survivors, Too!
Children are Co-Survivors, Too!
Families enjoy activities and pick
up goodies for the little ones, all while visiting with some surprise guests.
Please note this is not a drop-off area, but an interactive, safe and fun place dedicated to families with children who are at the Race.
