Troy automotive supplier partners with Karmanos Cancer Institute to promote breast cancer prevention

Automotive supplier Toyoda Gosei, with a location in Troy, recently partnered with the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month to raise funds for the center and to provide a healthy living lesson for employees.

Toyoda Gosei hosted a Healthy Living Lunch & Learn series, which included a breast cancer awareness walk, a luncheon, raffle and information about living fit, healthy lives. Employees from John Deere also took part in the event.

Maureen Bender, director of Corporate Relations and Events for Karmanos, spoke about the importance of early cancer detection and fundraising for research, treatments and more.

Toyoda Gosei encourages their employees to ‘Commit to be Fit,’ a theme of the event, which raised $2,554.00 for the Institute's work on behalf of breast cancer prevention, treatment and research.
