Free Health Awareness Day – Ask the Doctor event at Wolverine Harley-Davidson Saturday, July 20

The public is invited to take part in a free Health Awareness Day – Ask the Doctor event on Saturday, July 20, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the Wolverine Harley-Davidson dealership located at 44660 North Gratiot Ave., in Clinton Township. The event is sponsored by the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSU-SOM) and Wolverine Harley-Davidson. 

Men and women are encouraged to attend, ask questions of the experts, learn about early screening and prevention tips for prostate and breast cancer, and receive smoking cessation information and counseling. There will also be free oral, head and neck cancer screening, as well as blood pressure screening and risk assessment for heart attack and stroke.

Cancer experts from the Karmanos Cancer Institute and WSU SOM will include: Elisabeth Heath, M.D.; Jordan Maier, M.D.; and S. Naweed Raza, M.D. Internist Kristen Kingzett, M.D., from Wayne State University Physicians Group and WSU SOM will also be on hand.
