The 10th Annual Janice McTigue Golf Tournament recently took place at the Glen Oaks Golf Club in Farmington and raised an amazing $9,696.00! This brings the new grand total from the event, which has been held over the past 10 years, to $116,312.00. Funds raised support stem cell research at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. Each year the event is held in honor of Janice McTigue and all those who have lost their lives to cancer.
At the tournament, players received a continental breakfast before enjoying golf with family and friends. At the completion of golf, players were invited for a light buffet luncheon, awards ceremony and prizes. Toni Henderson-Clark, Quality and Regulatory specialist in the Bone Marrow Transplant program at Karmanos, attended the event this year and spoke about the progress that has been made in stem cell research initiatives at the Institute from the generous funds the McTigue outing has generated.
Karmanos is grateful for the ongoing support of the McTigue golf tournament and looks forward to next year’s event!
