“Pink Day” at Marion Law Academy raises funds and awareness for breast cancer research at Karmanos
Wednesday, October 30, 2013
The Marion Law Academy in Detroit recently hosted a “Pink Day” during their homecoming spirit week to support breast cancer research at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. Students were able to forego their uniforms in exchange for pink attire. This gave the academy’s 600 students, grades pre-K through 8th grade, a chance to wear anything pink - pink shirts, pink socks or pink shoes. The students raised $74.33 from their spirit week!
As the result of a successful inaugural event held by the students, Marion Law Academy’s sports teams are looking into hosting future fundraisers to benefit cancer research at Karmanos.
We are truly appreciative of all that Marion Law Academy has done for the Institute to help our efforts to bring about advancements in the fight against breast cancer!
