About the Partners
Who: The Partners
What: Young, hands-on volunteers between the ages of 25 and 50, united in the fight against cancer and solely dedicated to raising money for the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. The Partners have full discretion as to where to designate funds and members base their decision on needs expressed by Karmanos Cancer Institute leadership.
When: Partners holds two annual fundraisers, a golf classic in late summer and the Partners Night in the fall.
Why: The Partners group was the original vision of Anna and Harry Korman in memory of their late daughter, Suzanne, who died of cancer at age 36. They established a research fund to help others with cancer and to begin a legacy of research into creating more effective treatments and earlier detection methods, as well as building support for patients and their families so that others would not have to suffer as their daughter did. Their children and grandchildren continue to serve in supportive roles with the Partners and the annual Partners Night event. The Korman’s great-grandchildren also are involved with the group. Anna and Harry’s vision continues through the Partners.
