Regina Doxtader named vice president and chief financial officer of Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute

The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute appoints Regina Doxtader as the new vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). She began her new role Monday, November 28, 2022.

Doxtader has over 30 years of financial and operational experience, serving and leading health care organizations to sustained profitability. She has provided vital financial analysis, strategic planning and project leadership as she was responsible for economic activities across large network systems. She joins Karmanos, filling the CFO position left vacant by Brian Gamble, who was appointed to president of Karmanos Cancer Hospital.

“Regina brings an extensive background in finance and operations. We are excited to have Regina continue with our financial improvements and executing our plans for the future of Karmanos as our cancer care operations continue to grow,” said Gamble. “Having experience as a financial executive at one of the nation’s largest health care systems, Regina is equipped to help us maintain financial plans, provide strategic counsel, revenue forecasts and more. We are fortunate she chose to join Team Karmanos.”

“I am excited to continue serving the community through the work I’ll be doing at Karmanos,” Doxtader said. “Karmanos’ mission of a world free of cancer is a world we’d all like to live in. The doctors, researchers and staff at this cancer center are working diligently on making the mission a reality. I’m eager and grateful for the opportunity to serve our organization, our colleagues and communities and to provide financial leadership to support achieving our mission.”

Before her appointment, Doxtader was the corporate director of finance for Trinity Health. She partnered with clinical and operational leadership to drive focused initiatives and strategies across the system, which included operations in 22 states. She specialized in alternative payment models, financial operations and played an integral role in developing a specialty pharmacy. Before her role at Trinity, Doxtader spent 13 years at Botsford Health Care in Farmington Hills where she served as the vice president, corporate controller and CFO. Preceding Botsford, Doxtader served as an audit senior manager at Deloitte & Touche, LLP in Detroit, specializing in health care. She received her bachelor’s degree in economics and management from Albion College.
