The U CAN-CER VIVE Foundation visited Karmanos Cancer Institute on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2021, bearing 100 Valentine’s Day gifts. Presenting these special gifts was Kelley LaFontaine, founder of U CAN-CER VIVE, along with Todd McKay, from the Foundation’s grant committee.
Each gift includes a handmade Valentine card, teddy bear, face mask and hat for Karmanos cancer patients as part of their U R MY VALENTINE 2021 program. U R MY VALENTINE 2021 is the foundation's way of giving back.
Kelley LaFontaine said, “Everyone deserves to feel loved. We are delivering special gifts to those who will be spending Valentine’s Day in the hospital this year.”
The U CAN-CER VIVE Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization with the mission to provide vital funding for cancer research to create a cancer-free world. Kelley and Ryan LaFontaine founded the organization in 2016 to ensure that every penny raised would impact the world of cancer, thus making the non-profit a fully volunteer-driven group where 100 percent of the profits raised are applied to support the mission of U CAN-CER VIVE. Since its inception, the foundation has raised more than $2 million and has announced goals of net raising $1 million annually.
The Karmanos Cancer Institute team was thrilled to receive the gifts on behalf of our cancer patients.
