American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute announce partnership

Karmanos Cancer experts to be featured on monthly CANdid Podcast

American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) and the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute are pleased to announce a new partnership. The organizations have aligned to provide information about cancer-related legislative actions taking place on the state and federal levels. Through this partnership, Karmanos guests will be featured monthly on the CANdid Connection podcast.

ACS CAN launched their CANdid Connection podcast in 2020. The podcast aims to give listeners legislative insights through interviews with state and federal lawmakers about issues impacting cancer patients and their families.

“The fight against cancer takes place on many fronts,” said Gerold Bepler, M.D., Ph.D., president and chief executive officer, Karmanos Cancer Institute “Action and shared information are imperative as we move forward with research and treatment. We are excited to work with ACS CAN to cover important topics in cancer and discuss the decision-making that affects our work.”

“ACS CAN is thrilled to partner with the largest provider of cancer care and research in Michigan,” said Andrew Schepers, ACS CAN government relations director. “Through this partnership, we hope that we can educate and gain more volunteers who are committed to reducing suffering and death from cancer.” The CANdid Connection is a monthly podcast airing the second Monday of the month.
