You may have heard or seen troubling media reports about contract negotiations between Tenet Health Care, owner of the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) and Wayne State University Physicians Group (UPG). As of May 7, 2018, both parties agreed to a six-month extension of the contract. New options will be explored to continue the long-term relationship between DMC and UPG.
Whether or not a new agreement is reached, we want to assure you this will not impact the cancer care provided to you.
Karmanos Cancer Institute has separate arrangements with both organizations who we regard and value as strong partners in the care we provide you. This means our partnership with Tenet/DMC and UPG will continue. None of the service agreements between our respective organizations are affected.
