High prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels don’t necessarily mean prostate cancer. A PSA level is the amount of PSA, a protein, that is in the prostate gland. It is measured through a PSA blood test. Kevin Ginsburg, M.D., MS, urologic oncologist and member of the Genitourinary Oncology Multidisciplinary Team at Karmanos, identified some activities that can increase a man’s PSA levels, and how long men should wait before having the blood test.
