A researcher and his team in Spain have identified a combination of drug therapies that is showing promise in pre-clinical studies for treating pancreatic cancer. Asfar Azmi, Ph.D., scientist, director of the Pancreatic Cancer Research Initiative and member of the Molecular Therapeutics Research Program at Karmanos, joined FOX 2 to talk about this new discovery, what it means for patients, and how he, his team, and other Karmanos colleagues are studying this disease. Dr. Azmi also shared how long it may take for this treatment to be studied in clinical trials.
