Join Karmanos Cancer Institute’s Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) for the second Community Conversations on Cancer series event at the Detroit Public Library on Wednesday, June 25. The Road Ahead: Understanding a Lung Cancer Diagnosis and Exploring Treatment will be presented by Ammar Sukari, M.D., medical oncologist, member of the Thoracic Oncology Multidisciplinary Team, member of the Molecular Therapeutics Research Program at Karmanos, and professor at the Wayne State University (WSU) School of Medicine. Dr. Sukari will review the latest treatment options, what therapies are being studied now, how newer therapies compare to standard of care, and how to determine the best choice for treatment. He and Kristin Maki, Ph.D., scientist for the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement and assistant professor at WSU School of Medicine, explained what to expect to learn at the event on ‘JR Afternoon.
