The Planned Giving Advisory Committee

The Planned Giving Advisory Committee

Karmanos’ Planned Giving Advisory Committee was established to communicate and work collaboratively with financial and estate planning professionals to encourage them to highlight the benefit and positive impact of supporting the cancer research and treatment programs at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute when preparing estate plans with their clients. Bequests to the Institute help to significantly improve patient programs and advance the cancer research initiatives that promote the discovery of better, less invasive therapeutic options for patients and provide new hope for a cure for cancer.

Role of the Planned Giving Advisory Committee:

  • To advise Karmanos on ways to effectively market and communicate the financial and tax benefits of planned giving to the Institute’s donors and to the community.
  • To become knowledgeable about Karmanos' programs and research to present Karmanos as an option in charitable gift planning with clients when appropriate.
  • To assist Karmanos in building professional contacts within the financial and estate planning fields.
