Dr. Jeffrey Hotaling is an assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Wayne State University (WSU) School of Medicine. He treats all aspects of head and neck oncology, including cutaneous malignancies, salivary gland malignancies, thyroid and parathyroid tumors and malignancies, skull base tumors, and mucosal head and neck pathology. Dr. Hotaling also performs complex microvascular reconstruction of the head and neck as well as transoral robotic surgery (TORS). Dr. Hotaling completed a double major in Chemistry and Romance Languages at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire in 2006. He received his medical degree for Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in 2010 and completed his residency training in Otolaryngology at Loyola University Medical Center in 2015. He then went on to complete at fellowship in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2016. Dr. Hotaling has presented his research at numerous national and international meetings and has published several manuscripts and book chapters. His research interests include oncologic outcomes, tumor microenvironment, and resident education. He is a diplomate of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Hotaling also serves as the associate residency program director in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at Wayne State University.
