Allie Torriglia, BSN, RN, CCRN, named Daisy Award winner

Congratulations to Allie Torriglia, BSN, RN, CCRN, staff nurse in the Karmanos Cancer Center ICU, who was recently named a DAISY Award winner. Allie was nominated by a physician for her nursing care excellence.

The nominator wrote, “Allie continues to place her patient’s needs, desires, and care plans as her highest priority.”

The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an autoimmune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this national award to say thank you to nurses everywhere. More than 3,500 health care facilities and schools of nursing in all 50 states and 21 other countries participate. More than 100,000 nurses across the world have received this recognition.

Congratulations, Allie!
