Karmanos has partnered with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Program for Breast Cancer in Young Adults and the Gilda's of Detroit for a free, virtual and in-person Young Breast Cancer Symposium on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023. This symposium is open to young women across the state and healthcare providers. It features breast cancer survivors who are under the age of 45. Medical oncologists Michael Simon, M.D., MPH, co-leader of the Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) at Karmanos, and Hadeel Assad, M.D., member of the Breast Cancer and Phase 1 Clinical Trials MDTs, will both present survivor and provider sessions during the symposium.
