A collapsed lung, where the lung does not expand fully, could have several causes, including lung cancer. The inability to fully expand the lungs is also called atelectasis. Amina Pervaiz, M.D., pulmonologist and member of the Thoracic Oncology Multidisciplinary Team at Karmanos, described the difference between obstructive and non-obstructive atelectasis.
