Volunteer at McLaren Greater Lansing  and change a life!

The volunteer opportunities at McLaren Greater Lansing vary widely and are available seven days a week including evening placements. More than two dozen volunteer service groups provide distinct opportunities for volunteers to develop new skills, make new friends and contribute to the community.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our goal is to recruit and retain a group of dedicated, motivated and conscientious volunteers who will commit themselves to our mission.

Guest Services Volunteers

Volunteers work with families, visitors and the public.

Patient Services Volunteers

Volunteers work directly with patients.

Support Services Volunteers

Volunteers work "behind the scenes" and provide services to hospital staff patients or families.

Becoming a volunteer:

  • All prospective volunteers must complete the Volunteer Application Form, authorize a background check providing references.
  • Once your completed application and references have been received, your application is processed. If it is determined that we are able to match your skills and availability with our volunteer needs, you will be contacted to schedule a placement interview.
  • During the interview, the Volunteer Coordinator discusses your motivation for volunteering, your past volunteer and work experience and your areas of interest for volunteer service and will assist you in selecting a volunteer placement.
  • All volunteers must attend orientation and have a TB test prior to beginning volunteer placement.  Please contact Volunteer Services to schedule your orientation.  Training is provided for each placement area.
