McLaren Health Care, headquartered in Grand Blanc, Michigan, is a $6.6 billion, fully integrated health care delivery system committed to quality, evidence-based patient care and cost efficiency. McLaren operates Michigan’s largest network of cancer centers and providers, anchored by the Karmanos Cancer Institute, one of only 53 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the U.S. McLaren has 28,000 full-, part-time and contracted employees and more than 113,000 network providers throughout Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.

As part of its Graduate Medical Education (GME) program, McLaren maintains academic affiliations with medical schools at Wayne State University, Michigan State University and Central Medical University. McLaren’s six (6) GME campuses offer 27 residencies and eight (8) fellowship programs that train over 650 future physicians annually. All GME programs at McLaren are overseen and managed centrally by the Department of Academic Affairs.

    McLaren Bay Region is a 415-bed acute tertiary care hospital located in Bay City, Michigan, providing specialty, primary and preventive care. Services include cardiovascular, neuroscience, orthopedics, oncology, women’s health, and rehabilitation. McLaren Bay Region is a certified Primary Stroke Center, as designated by the Joint Commission. McLaren Bay Region’s Emergency Department treats more than 45,000 patients per year.

    McLaren Bay Special Care is a 31-bed long-term acute care hospital located in Bay City, Michigan specializing in the care and treatment of patients with complex medical needs, including a ventilator weaning program, that require lengths of stay greater than 25 days. The experienced staff are highly trained and use a team approach to provide intensive, individualized treatment. The hospital is licensed by the Michigan Department of Community Health and is accredited by The Joint Commission.

    McLaren Central Michigan is a 118-bed acute care hospital located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. McLaren Central Michigan is recognized as an accessible and dependable source of quality medical care for residents of Mount Pleasant, Isabella County and central Michigan.     McLaren Clarkston represents the largest ground-up development in the history of the corporation. The $600 million health care village project, located on 95 acres of prime real estate in northern Oakland County, is being developed in two phases.     McLaren Flint is a 378 bed tertiary teaching facility located in Flint, Michigan. McLaren Flint is affiliated with Michigan State University (MSU) College of Human Medicine in its medical and surgical residency programs, including family practice, internal medicine, general surgery, and orthopedic surgery. McLaren Flint also maintains fellowship programs in clinical health psychology, vascular surgery, minimally invasive surgery and cardiology in partnership with MSU. The hospital is certified as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, a Gold Plus Comprehensive Stroke Center (Joint Commission), and a BCBSM Blue Distinction Center+ for Spine Surgery, Cardiac Care and OB services.     McLaren Greater Lansing, is a tertiary teaching facility with 240 acute care beds, located in Lansing, Michigan on the southern edge of the Michigan State University campus. McLaren Greater Lansing moved to the new hospital building located at the new healthcare campus on March 6, 2022. Among its services are a Level III Trauma Center/Emergency Department, Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute, comprehensive cardiac programs, medical/surgical units, and state-of-the-art women and children’s health services including a modern birthing center.     McLaren Proton Therapy Center is part of the Karmanos Cancer Network. It is one of 32 proton therapy centers currently operating in the U.S. and offers radiation oncology treatment with superior precision. The McLaren Proton Therapy Center leads in advanced, next-generation technology by providing pencil-beam scanning and a state-of-the-art system for volumetric image guided proton therapy delivery. The McLaren Proton Therapy Center’s synchrotron accelerates protons to speeds up to 60 percent of the speed of light that are then focused to target the cancer, while sparing healthy tissues. The system uses isocentric gantries with 180-degree rotation, and robotic patient positioning and verification systems, allowing the most flexibility for treatment design and delivery. Located in Flint, Michigan, patients from the surrounding areas and beyond travel to the McLaren Proton Therapy Center for this advanced treatment.

    McLaren Health Plan (MHP) has been operating as a Michigan-based licensed Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) since 1998 and currently delivers health care benefits to 260,000 members. The HMO was started to serve Michigan’s Medicaid population and has added group, individual and Medicare products along with a Third Party Administrator called Health Advantage, Inc., for self-funded employer groups. In 2015, MHP was awarded the right to operate in and service every county in the lower peninsula of the state of Michigan – the only provider-owned health plan to achieve this designation by the Michigan Department of Community Health.
