McLaren Health Care’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is driving positive change throughout our organization. As a result, initiatives and events occur on an ongoing basis, offering opportunities for staff and physicians to engage, grow and lead.

  • June 9, 2021: McLaren Port Huron's support for the Ally Project for the LGBTQ community and the Big Give.
  • November, 2020: McLaren Greater Lansing forms Diversity & Inclusion Committee to work toward creating an inclusive culture in the workplace and to celebrate diversity. Meet the team here.
  • October 30, 2020: Karmanos Cancer Institute Office of Cancer Health Equity and Community Engagement honored by Michigan Cancer Consortium with 2020 Spirit of Collaboration Award Read about this honor.
  • October 22, 2020: Karmanos Cancer Institute launched a Health Equity Book Club, a quarterly program to enhance awareness of systematic racism, inequality and misinformation within the medical community. Watch previous recordings and participate in upcoming meetings.

  • June 19, 2020: McLaren Flint hosted a recognition of Juneteenth, which recognizes the end of slavery in America.
  • June 12, 2020: McLaren Macomb hosted a multi-faith Blessing of the Space for its new emergency center. Watch the video here.
  • June 12, 2020: McLaren Thumb hosted a Community Discussion on Diversity & Inclusion, followed by a staff educational session to learn more about the LGBTQ community.
