Visitor Policy at Karmanos Cancer Institute

McLaren Health Care and Karmanos Cancer Center continually monitor the guidance from federal and state authorities with respect to keeping us all safe and protected from COVID-19.

Masking Guidance

Mandatory mask usage is determined by specific patient care areas. All individuals are required to wear a mask while in the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit on 10 Webber North (WN) and the Joseph Dresner Family Clinic and Infusion Center for Malignant Hematology and Stem Cell Transplantation. Masks always covering the nose and mouth are required in those clinical areas and within the adjacent ancillary spaces, e.g., lobby, and hallways.

Masks are recommended but are not mandatory for the acute care units on 5 WN, 8 WN, 9 WN, the intensive care unit, and all other clinical areas, including the ambulatory clinics, infusion centers, and procedure, imaging, radiation, and diagnostic testing areas.

Please note that all visitors must be 12 years or older and MUST wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) during the entire visit, e.g., masks, when visiting the BMT Unit located on 10WN and the Joseph Dresner Family Clinic and Infusion Center for Malignant Hematology and Stem Cell Transplantation.
