The Healing Arts Program
at Karmanos Cancer Institute

We encourage family caregivers and cancer thrivers to “Give Yourself a Break Today” and participate in our Healing Arts Program. We offer the following in-person at our Farmington Hills and Detroit campuses and/or virtually:

  • Art therapy/art workshops
  • Music therapy/environmental music
  • Support groups for men and women, cancer thrivers and caregivers
  • Gentle and chair yoga
  • Meditation and Mindfulness
  • Chair massage/Reiki/Healing touch
  • Weekend retreats
  • Self-love days
  • Men’s wellness days
  • Men’s art group
  • Workshops at Pewabic Pottery & Birmingham Bloomfield Art center
  • Powerful Tools for Caregivers group.
  • Monthly supper club for caregivers & cancer thrivers
  • Caregiver Café-- get together for caregivers
  • Speakers’ series
  • Counseling and counseling referrals
  • Camps and recreational programs for children with a parent with cancer
