Your Work Matters — Let Us Support It

At Karmanos Cancer Institute, we are committed to supporting the next generation of cancer researchers, clinicians, and biomedical professionals. Trainees working with Karmanos member faculty are automatically considered Trainee Members of the Institute. To access membership benefits, including funding, mentorship, and research support, trainees must complete a short enrollment process. Our program connects high school, undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral learners with resources and opportunities that enhance their training and professional growth in oncology.

Eligibility

If you are working with a Karmanos Cancer Institute member faculty, you are automatically considered a Trainee Member of the Institute. However, to access membership benefits — including funding opportunities, mentorship, and research support — you must complete the enrollment process outlined below.

Eligible activities include multi-week research, shadowing, or project collaborations. Short-term or single-day activities do not meet the criteria for activating benefits.

How to join

Step 1: Confirm Eligibility

Complete this short Qualtrics survey to verify your eligibility. If eligible, you’ll receive a link from CRTEC and Qualtrics to enroll on the Monicur platform.

Step 2: Create Your Monicur Account

Follow the prompts to register. Use an email you’ll retain access to beyond your current placement or training.

Step 3: Build Your Profile

You’ll receive reminders every six months to review and update your profile.

Data Privacy Commitment

We collect program, demographic, and career data to support your development and strengthen our training initiatives. All personal information is kept confidential and is used only for program improvement and required reporting to agencies such as the NIH. Any data shared externally is presented in aggregate form, and individuals are never identifiable.
